SEATTLE, WA; July 19, 2000
Primus (NASDAQ: PKSI), a leading provider of eCRM software, today announced that ePeople, one of the largest online marketplaces for IT
services and support, will use Primus software to assist the marketplace's talent pool, currently more than 14,000 service providers,
in fulfilling the technical help needs of IT buyers.
ePeople has built a premier online marketplace bringing together business users in need of technical help with IT service providers able
to deliver a broad range of high quality technology services and support. Primus will work with ePeople to integrate the Primus®
eServer and Primus® eSupport software into the ePeople online marketplace. The enhanced infrastructure will ultimately allow
ePeople's expansive base of service providers to offer Web-based customer service powered by Primus' sophisticated solution-centered
knowledgebase.
With the Primus solution, service providers will be able to rapidly locate applicable information and knowledge needed to effectively
address users' needs. Service providers also will be able to author new answers and share that knowledge among the providers in the
marketplace, leveraging the wide range of talents and experience represented by the provider community.
When integration of the Primus solution with the ePeople marketplace is completed later this year, ePeople's newly announced Marketplace
Assistant software will interface with Primus eServer and Primus eSupport software to help service providers more quickly and efficiently
provide higher quality answers to users' computer problems. Marketplace Assistant software is a unique feature of the ePeople online
support resolution system and can be installed automatically to the user's desktop. Marketplace Assistant captures the user's system
information along with the support question and then passes it to the Primus knowledgebase, making it much easier for providers to
provide a fast answer.
"ePeople will help to turn one of the most revolutionary benefits of the New Economy - the ability to directly connect the virtual 'buyer'
and 'seller' of information - into a reality through its online IT services and support marketplace," said Michael Brochu, president and
CEO of Primus. "Primus is pleased to provide a key technology component for ePeople's growing marketplace infrastructure."
Anthony Lye, president and CEO of ePeople, said, "Primus' products will form a key component of our strategy to build the most robust
marketplace infrastructure for IT buyers and service providers. We continue to invest in the industry's leading technologies to provide
our customers with the best possible online support experience."
