ePeople Expands Management Team, Appointing Anil Gupta, Vice President of Product Marketing and Strategy
Enterprise Software Marketing Veteran Brings More than 20 Years Experience
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA; March 19, 2002
ePeople Inc., a developer of Internet-based collaborative CRM applications, today named enterprise software marketing
veteran Anil Gupta as vice president of product marketing and strategy.
The ePeople solution enables companies to assemble teams of the best resources available and then provides a collaborative environment to solve
complex customer service and support issues, saving companies significant time and money. All the rich information garnered from the collaborative
interaction is then captured and leveraged to improve the entire company's performance.
Gupta is charged with driving ePeople's product strategy and roadmap, ensuring that market and customer requirements are translated into products.
"Understanding a market and executing a complementary product strategy is Anil's hallmark, which is reflected in a track record of companies that
experienced considerable growth under his product marketing direction," said Anthony Lye, president and CEO of ePeople.
"Existing CRM systems are unable to manage complex interactions between various organizations and companies engaged in supporting customers," said
Gupta. "As a result, companies are unable to capture and turn that rich information into tangible opportunities for improved customer retention and
growth. ePeople has developed a collaborative CRM solution to close that loop for companies that sell complex products, a market that has explosive
potential."
Gupta brings over 20 years of experience in marketing enterprise applications, most recently as vice president of strategy and marketing at Evolve
Software. Gutpa was instrumental in expanding Evolve into a market leader in the Employee Relationship Management (ERM) market, as well as playing
a key role in its successful IPO in September 2000. Before Evolve, Gupta served as vice president of marketing for Broadbase Software (merged with
Kana Corporation) and refocused their marketing operations as they evolved from a data-warehouse vendor into a publicly-traded CRM analytics
software vendor.
Gupta also served as the vice president of marketing at Niku Corporation and vice president of product and industry marketing with Baan.
