ePeople Becomes the First Enterprise Applications Vendor to Support SAML 1.0 Industry Standard
ePeople to Demonstrate New SAML-based Single Sign-On Adaptor at Burton Group's Catalyst Conference
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA; July 15, 2002
ePeople Inc., a leading provider of Web-based collaborative CRM solutions, today became the first enterprise applications vendor to provide
native support for the SAML 1.0 (Security Assertion Markup Language) standard, with the release of its Single Sign-On (SSO) Adaptor for ePeople
Teamwork 4.0, a Web-based application for team based customer support. Implementation of SAML, the next generation standard for exchanging
authentication and authorization information among disparate Web access management and security products, will allow customers to seamlessly
traverse between their customer facing applications and ePeople Teamwork, without having to log-on multiple times, as well as centralize their
user account management.
ePeople will demonstrate the interoperability of its application with SAML 1.0 today at the Catalyst Conference 2002 in San Francisco, along
with eleven other vendors, including IBM, Novell, Oblix, Sun Microsystems, Entegrity Solutions and RSA Security.
"Support for the SAML standard is another proof point that ePeople ensures our customers can easily deploy our applications side-by-side with
their CRM systems and customer facing portals", said Anthony Lye, president and CEO of ePeople. "We are committed to Web services-based open
industry standards and continue to make significant investments in that area".
"SAML is an important security interoperability standard and will play a key role in the success of web services environments, both internal
and external to organizations", said James Kobielus, senior analyst at Burton Group. "ePeople is in the forefront of Web access management
solution providers who have rallied around SAML and are implementing the specification in their products this year. SAML will enable
standards-based SSO and access controls across multivendor security and application environments, thereby allowing companies to secure
transactions with business partners while controlling system integration costs".
ePeople Teamwork 4.0 enables a cross-organizational team paradigm for effectively resolving complex customer issues, tailoring support offerings
based on customer value and delivering customer support across distribution and partner channels. ePeople Single Sign-On Adaptor enables customers
to centralize their user account management for instant access and seamless integration with enterprise systems and corporate portals. In addition,
because it is vendor neutral, the ePeople Single Sign-On Adaptor reduces enterprise integration costs, offers faster deployment and improves the
user experience.
