ePeople Announces New Version of CTMail, Email and Site Management Software

Major enhancements include shared processes to enforce standard operating procedures and accelerate clinical trials

Mountain View, Calif., December 15, 2004 - ePeople, a leading provider of email management solutions for high value customer relationships in life sciences, high technology and engineer-to-order industries today announced a new version of CTMail, email and site management software with enhanced capabilities that accelerate end-to-end clinical trials through shared processes.

After adding six life sciences customers earlier this month including McKesson BioServices, BridgeSite Clinical Research and ClinDatrix, ePeople expects continued momentum with the new version that extends CTMail beyond the shared collaboration of content and people to now include process and procedures. The new release also offers the ability to manage email and sites across multiple trials from a single user interface; action plan templates that enforce both email and site related standard operating procedures ensuring that best practices are followed, and document activity management to track document records and site profiles.

Designed for clinical researchers in pharmaceutical, medical device, research centers and contract research organizations, CTMail establishes strong investigator relationships by managing communication and centralizing information among all study participants, managing resources and providing collaborative workspaces to react faster to and efficiently resolve study issues. CTMail saves the monitor's time and energy that can be better spent on problem solving rather than cutting and pasting and ensures that managers can check the progress of every aspect of the trial at a glance.

"Compliance and acceleration of clinical trials are top of mind for life sciences organizations," said Anthony Lye, CEO, ePeople. "The new version of CTMail directly addresses those concerns. By sharing processes, companies are guaranteed that procedures are followed absolutely. Companies can define an action plan once have every single person follow it, ensuring compliance and improving efficiency."

Manage Email Across Multiple Trials and Sites
Now with CTMail, sponsors, clinical research organizations and site management organizations can track and manage site issues, activities and observations, documents and resources across multiple trials and sites from one application. Sponsors can now see their sites as assets and manage them across their business directly and/or indirectly through clinical research organizations and site management organizations.

Create reusable Task-Flow with Action Plans
To support the numerous and complex task lists that clinical research analysts are required to follow by sponsors, CTMail delivers Action Plans, templates that define a set number of tasks in a particular order that can be created once centrally and deployed to every clinical research analyst on each trial. Action Plans ensure that the complex procedures like site initiations and site closures can be followed exactly in line with the defined standard operating procedures.

Document Activity Management CTMail keeps track of all document movement with the Document Activity Manager.  Documents can be checked in and out of email records and site profiles. They can be locked and unlocked by the users, however, locked files cannot be deleted or changed. Attached or uploaded documents with the same name as a locked document are version controlled and all of the deleted documents from an email record or site profile are tracked and managed. All versions are managed by the application.
